Looking back

We have now been to the Polish / Ukrainian border 5 times for a longer period of time to hand out a nice meal to the people there. We always make it as cozy as possible with music and cheerful service, in the hope that these people can relax for an hour. We gave away more than 2,000 portions of fries and 1,800 snacks per day.

This was appreciated by the refugees who just had a tough journey. We have reported extensively on all these trips on our social media pages. we filmed a lot and broadcast live streams. Some of them have been viewed more than 45,000 times. During the live streams Franky often interviewed the visitors live. They could tell their own story, especially to show people in the Netherlands what really happened in Ukraine.

We have been in the news a lot (Jinek, Hart van Nederland, etc.) and almost all TV and radio stations in the Netherlands have paid attention to us (NOS, SBS, RTL, Radio 538). Reports about our campaign have even been broadcast abroad. Because of this attention we have had sponsorship from private individuals as well as from companies and even from TV celebrities such as the Toppers (René Froger, Gerard Joling, Jeroen van der Boom and Jan Smit). There were also regular guests in the Coen and Sander Show.

The last trip was to Lviv in Ukraine, where we served food to people who didn't have the opportunity to leave Ukraine. We also treated thousands of people to fries and snacks there every day. In total, we gave away more than 75,000 servings of fries, 65,000 snacks and 70,000 cans of soda! We also distributed hundreds of kilos of candy and thousands of donuts to children.

It was an intense, emotional journey and we will never forget what we experienced there. We met wonderful people who were in a horrible situation. They have suffered terrible losses, yet they have always amazed us with their optimism and strength. It is not fair that a country with all its inhabitants should lead this way because another country is doing this to them.
